We are delighted to announce that Budget Marine are the latest supporter of the Optimist World Championship this year. Not only will they co-sponsor the Awards and Prizegiving Ceremony, they are also providing free neck buffs to all participants and team members and helping us achieve our Clean Regatta goal by providing our Green Volunteers with dedicated shirts.
Budget Marine are the Caribbean’s leading chandlery. Started in 1982 selling boat parts in Sint Maarten, they are now well known as the leading retailer and wholesaler of pleasure boat marine equipment in the Caribbean.
Being boaters themselves, they well understand the challenges in the Caribbean. From the availability of getting just the right product to making sure these products stand up to the test in our tough environment, they select their products carefully to make sure their customers can get back on the water with as little fuss and expense as possible. They have over 12,000 products in stock from over 280 suppliers and also offer a Special Order Service just in case you can’t find what you need.
The Optimist World Championship is the world’s largest youth sailing competition and this year Antigua is breaking a world record for the number of countries competing as we host 266 sailors from 64 countries. Budget Marine Antigua is proud to support the event as they are heavily involved in the entire sailing community, and are keen to motivate young sailors to be part of both the fun events and the serious maritime business.
‘We pride ourselves in always continuing to develop and promote on the water activities and last year we supported close to 40 events throughout the Caribbean. We are very excited to be involved with Antigua’s record breaking Optimist World Championship and of course there is a big chance that you will see us on the water whether participating in the event or enjoying the outstanding sailing and environmental conditions of the Caribbean!’
