NOTICE OF RACE

AYC MINI DINGHY REGATTA

SUNDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER 2024

The Antigua Yacht Club is hosting a Mini Dinghy Regatta and Barts Bash .

RULES: Racing will be governed by the 2021-2024 WS Racing Rules of Sailing, the ILCA, Optimist Zest and Feva Class Rules, the prescription of the race committee, and by the sailing instructions.

REGATTA WAIVER & ENTRY FEE:

Regatta Waivers must be reviewed and signed by all parents/guardians of sailors 17 years of age and under. Any sailor 18 years and older can sign the waiver. (If you had a waiver on file from last year, it has now expired and you will need to sign a new one)

We have a limited number of boats for members, please pay your entry fees at the Office by Friday 13th  Sept 2024 by 4pm. Payment secures a spot.

Entry Fee – EC$ 25 for all Sailors up 19 & EC$ 50 Sailors over 19.

SCHEDULE: Set up and briefing will be at 8:30 a.m.

Warning for the first start will not be before 9:30a.m on Sunday

EQUIPMENT: The racing will be sailed in ILCA 7,6 ,4 ,Optimist , Zest and Feva.

If one has a preference in equipment, you are more than welcome to bring your own.

COURSE & NO. OF RACES: The races will be sailed in Falmouth Harbour and will be Trapezoid or Windward/Leeward. The course will be given in the sailing instructions. There will be a maximum of 5 races .

PRIZES & SCORING: Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. if less than 4 boats in the class only 1st place shall be awarded. Scoring will be in accordance with Appendix A.

This event is the qualifier for the Caribbean Dinghy Championships St.Maaten 25tht-27th Oct. With the first place in each class except for OPTIMIST GREEN

1 ILCA 7 Open

1 ILCA 6 Male (up to 19 at the time of the event) + Female Open

1 ILCA 4.7 Male or Female up to 16

1 Optimist  born 2009 or later

1 Feva  2 People  Open

1 Zest 2 People under 16
